Champi's sister-in-law's wedding which reached the Guinness Book
Artiste Mrs. Champi Siriwardena was successful in creating a Guinness world record yesterday by preparing the biggest number of bridesmaids for one bride.
The record was created at the wedding of Nisansala and Nalin which was held yesterday at Avendra Garden Hotel in Negombo by preparing and beautifying 126 bridesmaids, 25 bestmen, 23 flowergirls and 20 pageboys. Zida Subasi Jemsi, representing the Guinness Records Committee was present to bestow the relevant certificate on the same day.
Previously, this record was held by a Thai national who performed the same feat for 96 bridesmaids at a wedding festival in Thailand.
Nisansala the bride in this wedding incidentally was the sister of Champi's husband.
By now, even the foreign media has publicized this wedding ceremony which has found entry into the Guinness Book of Records. A collection of 51 photos of the occasion can be seen HERE
