Mervyn's doggy journalists

At a meeting held sometime ago at Hingurakgoda, Minister Mervyn Silva reprimanded journalists calling them dogs. He also said that he is just not a brinjal or a snakegourd .... but a sandlewood tree.

    "Today there are mediamen who have not passed the 5th standard in school and who can't even write a love letter. These mediamen who write are hired to write and talk for others are sinners. These mediamen who attack me ... they'll be born as dogs in their next birth. There is a certain newspaper ... that newspaper is allergic to me ... I am allergic to them also. They'll put something in their newspaper every day. I am telling them that I'm not a shrunk brinjal ... I'm not a brinjal ear either ... I'm not a snakegourd ear either. I talk about myself as a sandlewood tree that brings out a wonderful fragrance the more it is cut. I have not done wrong ... and will not do wrong things ... but there's one particular media of importance in this country.
