It is reported that UNP parliament member Rosy Senanayake's daughter Thisakya has been bestowed with a special title of an advisor of United Nation's Commonwealth Leaders' Conference which is to be held in Sri Lanka in November this year.
It is also reported that this appointment had been given a short time ago and 12 individuals of both sexes of the ages of 20 - 26 had functioned as advisors in the past and that they are being paid a sum of RS. 70,000 FOR THEIR DUTIES.
ROSY'S DAUGHTER IS OF THE AGE OF 25 YEARS AND SHE HAD UNDERGONE A DEGREE COURSE OF STUDIES IN 'FASHIONS' IN ENGLAND. IT IS NOT REVEALED AS TO THE QUALIFICATIONS WHICH MADE THESE 12 INDIVIDUALS TO BE CHOSEN FOR THIS CAPACITY.
It is reported that most of the other 11 persons chosen for this post were those who had high social connections.
It is not clear as to the exact role of duties they are called upon to play while informative sources say that after the Commonwealth Conference is held, the said advisors would be afforded the most fortunate and rare opportunities of being appointed to positions in the Sri Lanka Foreign Service.
The response in the form of answers given by Rosy's daughter Thisakya by joining in a newspaper interview in August 2012 is as follows:
*Your school?
I studied at Bishop's Colege till grade 9. After that I followed CIN.
* Your highest qualifications?
I followed a degree in Fashion Creations in England, and it was recently that I came to Sri Lanka after finishing it.
* Are you doing a job in Sri Lanka?
What I think is that there is no place here to display our capabilities. The fashions in Sri Lanka takes place only on the demand that is made. On such occasions our capabilities keep rotting in one and the same place.
* Haven't you taken your mother's political strength even on the street?
You can even ask even from my friends ..... whether we have done things like that. Never. I'll not even tell the name.
