Fonseka's Third Force

Those will vanish by 4th, 5th or 6th -- Keheliya .....
Those are only resemblances and not alternatives -- Tilvin

According to results of the PC elections concluded yesterday, the JVP which was known as the Third Power was dissolved and the Democratic Party which supported Sarath Fonseka managed to get something close to 1 lakh votes, winning 5 seats and thus becoming the 3rd in the list.

Even at the last election propaganda campaign, addressing a rally in Kegalle on 29th June he had said that his Party would be made the Third Power this time and after yesterday's victory, at a media briefing held in Kurunegala yesterday he had said that the victory was gained in the true sense because the Party managed to grab the votes from Parties that strived to maintain the election foundation and thereby it was his Party that was able to bring 5 members to the parliament.

However, the other mainline Parties think of  Sarath Fonseka's Third Power as something to laugh at. This was revealed at newspaper media discussion which was held by UPFA according to an idea expressed by Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
"This history is not a case of repetition ... all Third Powers had been in the 3rd position and from there had receded to 4th, 5th and 6th and have got dissolved .... I am not wishing so ... but in history, all these 65 years it has happened only that way".

It was Tilan Silva who expressed the opinion of the JVP about the Third Power of Fonseka. "That Democratic Party or any other Party does not have any objective ... what they want is to carry on with politics in this society. They will not be an alternative to present politics .... only a resemblance".
