Person who invaded Cardiff grounds .... confirmed as notorious fraudster....seen from his tattoo
After photographs of the crowd who invaded the grounds during the last match in which Sri Lanka participated for the Champions Trophy was published in the press, it was noted by police of a certain person who was wanted and warranted for a criminal offense committed in Sri Lanka.
Since it was possible to identify this individual Yogeshwaran Manivaran, an LTTE supporter to be living in England, a red alert with an international warrant was issued yesterday in order to take him into custody.
The Magistrate of Colombo, Gihan Pilapitiya issued this order on a request made from the CID. It is also reported that this person is someone who maintained relationships with the LTTE and was from Velvetithurai. He was being searched for in connection with a credit card fraud of Rs.30 million from a private bank in Colombo by using a bogus credit card.
After perusing the photographs taken at the moment when the protest was launched at Cardiff grounds, the CID had been able to identify him. The CID said that the tattoo etched on his arm let out the secret to help in identifying him.
While no information as to how this individual had gone to England is known upto now, because of the protest an opportunity for arrest was made available for the police.
