'Samanala thatu' Dulanjali who writes with leg
secures 6 As in O/Ls
The small girl Dulanjali Ariyatilleka who was minus her hands and who acted in the film Samanala Thatu has passed the O/L examination with flying colours.
Dulanjali who studies at the Roman Catholic school in Katukurunda has secured 6 As, 2 Bs and 1 C. Although she is minus her hands, has studied with determination and can even write beautiful letters with her leg. It is Father Julian Tissera and Mother Rita Perera who looks after and cares for Dulanjali like a child of theirs. Dulanjali lives in Maithree Children's Home in Katukurunda.
She shows capabilities in delicate-work such as computer graphic designing and playing the organ. Dulanjali who thinks of following her A/Ls in Commerce subjects dreams of becoming a Graphic Designer some day.
'' If there is an effort made for anything, it can be accomplished. What is important for it is the power of determination in the mind. I'll some day achieve all my future targets in the same way'', says Dulanjali.
