A 'MIKE GAME' FROM RANIL AT MEDIA GATHERING

"Hatred cannot be overcome by hatred, I have compassion on you" - Ranil tells Sirasa         

    The Sirasa-Ranil conflict was the focus of yesterday's media discussion under the topic Opposition Conflict held by the Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe. Several ideas surfaced at this discussion. Gayan Sampath of Sirasa Media questioned Opposition Leader as to what the policy of the Party regarding the media is when Ranil had tried to evade answering the question and apparently leave the discussion.   
     
    At this point Ranil had come back to his seat and had begun criticizing Sirasa saying that two cameras were being used to cover the proceedings,  with the motive of checking his shortcomings and that if such tactics were to be employed, in future, news ratings for Sirasa News would drop further. Ranil then attempted to explain his point further by manually lifting Hiru T.V. and Swarnavahini microphones that were within his reach.

   He continued by requesting Killi Maharaja not to display latter's enmity on him; that hatred cannot be overcome by hatred and that he would only forgive such acts.
