The monk who donated a Kidney did not stop at that, but also donated a part of his liver was also gifted a rare monk aims to attain Nirvana, through ‘paramitha’ dhamma

We have heard many stories of some remarkable personalities in history who had donated eyes blood and organs in the body for the benefit of others to prolong their lives and to attain Nirvana. In the present days context we hardly hear of such stories that were heard in our history.
However we have heard of stories of donating kidneys. Donating of parts of the liver are rare as it is against the advice of doctors. A monk who lives in Uhumeeya area in kurunegala lives in a Aramaya had already donated a Kidney and a part of his live for those needed persons and had donated blood 67 times. It is rarely heard of any person leave alone a monk who had donated a kidney and a part of a liver.
This unique monk who lives in Aramaya in Uhumeeya Madalatenna by name is Ven,Bihalpotha Narada thera.is only 43 years old. This monk who is a wiling donator has already donated a kidney and a part of his liver to two patients who have been able to live long having had the deficiencies of these organs who were on the verge of dying.
This monk had been very convinced with verse bana of the Famous Ariyadhamma thera had decided to get ordained when he was only 18 years old. He commenced his donating of organs in his body at the age of 28 years. These just flowed into his mind. He initially donated a kidney when kidney transplants were not done in Sri Lanka. He had to go the ‘Pathmini’ hospital in Chennai to donate a kidney for a patient from Negombo, who desperately needed a kidney transplant. His next donation was of a very serious nature as it a part of his liver that was donated. It was donated to a patient in the Matale area. This serious operation was done successfully in the year 2012 at a private hospital in Colombo.
According the consultant surgeons in Sri Lanka they are yet hear of a person who had donated a kidney and a part of the liver over here in Sri Lanka. The monk it is learnt is in good health and appear to be living a normal life by taking part in Buddhist activities. To see him looking healthy is itself a very pleasing scene.
If one prefers to live long with these types sacrifices and a sober life with taking part in Buddhist activities could pave the way for any individual to attain nirvana after death. This is the true way of Buddhist life.When having the strength and ability to render help to others it should be done without hesitation
