TEACHER DIES OF BURNS ALONG WITH HER INFANT SONS AT RATMALANA

Lady Teacher burnt to death in a mysterious manner along with her two sons.  Was it by accident or was it homicide?

A family had lived in a house near the deaf and blind junction in Ratmalana. Yesterday around 6.30 a.m. the neighbours had seen a fire and they together with the inmates of the house had tried to put off the fire. They had found the lady teacher and two infant sons burnt to death in the room they had been sleeping. The neighbours had immediately tried to put away the fire and then had called the Mt Lavinia police who had seen the three dead bodies in the bed room where they had slept.
The husband of the deceased lady teacher is supposed to be a Manager of a reputed Garment factory in the vicinity and had been sleeping in an adjoining room. The teacher is 31 years old, Shetha Sandamalee Silva attached to the Princess of Wales girl’s school in Moratuwa while the two dead children had been three years and one month old sons, Prabash Banuka and Krishantha Sandaruwan respectively.
The Police when investigating had found a candle and a box of matches in the bed room where they were burnt. It is not known yet whether it was The fire was not been able to be brought under control.
The Air conditioner and a bulb in the room had been switched off. In the house apart from the teacher’s husband, the husband’s Mother and a few boarders had been living in some other rooms. The Police had up to now have questioned about 25 persons. Yet it had not been revealed the cause of the mysterious deaths whether it was murder or owing to burns.
