During the period of the ICC World T/20 cricket tournament held in Sri Lanka recently the ‘Gangnam” style dancing emerged mainly owing to the manner Chris Gayle celebrated after triumph on the field. This dance style was invented by the Korean National ‘Sai’, this new style of dancing. After Chris Gayle imitated the ‘Gangnam’ style dance it spread, to many parts of the country.
In the parliament yesterday during the budget debate Minister Dullas Alahapperuma quipped that the ‘Gangnam’ style dances could not be performed within the parliament; what he said was....
“What he said was the ‘Gangnam’ style does not suit the parliament. Sometimes the arms are rotated, sometimes heads are rotated and at times legs are rotated by members in the House. You people dance not according to ‘Gangnam’ style, but to different styles. You are allowed to criticise but do not spread false rumours.”
