Kasun and family presented with a new rented out house:
After the real story of Kasun Charmara is carried to the Sri Jayawardenapura University lecture hall by his mother and how he lived in a small annex close to the University premises with his mother was given wide publicity in the local media many volunteers stood up on hearing his very pathetic story. They had made many donations in cash and kind on the imitative of the Past lecturers Association of Sri Jayawardenapura University.
The members of Past Lecturers Association of Sri Jayewardenapura University had very thoughtfully had donated a rented out house for Kasun’s family to live. It is two bed roomed house at P.H.Perera Mawatha at Boralesgamuwa. The rent of the house would be borne by the members of the Past Lecturers Association until Kasun’s tenure at the Jayawardenapura University is over. They also have been provided with all necessary facilities like furniture, electrical equipment, a television set and a mobile phone. Many volunteers had made cash donations to Kasun’s family. Ministers Bandula Gunawardena. S.B. Dissanayake and Dullas Alahapperuma too had made cash donations it is reported. To assist Kasun in his studies a laptop computer machine too had been donated by a well wisher.
“Until now we have had to face so many difficulties. We have now got a house to our entire satisfaction with all needed facilities. My main intention and aim is to complete my University education and seek employment as an executive in a bank or to become a University lecturer .I thank all those who helped me”
said kasun Charmara at this occasion.
