Former Sri Lankan Ambassador’s sex attack in UK
Former Sri Lankan Ambassador in UK proved guilty in a U.k Court for feeling the breast of a SPA centre girl employee forcibly. Former Member of Parliament in Sri Lanka had served as the Sri Lankan Ambassador in many countries like Poland, Rumania, Bulgaria, UK and several other European countries. After his exit from the Foreign Service he had lived in England with his son. He had got involved in this SPA centre incident in the month of last May.
He had visited a SPA centre in the Wimbledon area to take SPA centre treatment for his leg as he was a diabetic patient. He had confessed that he is not guilty of this allegation, but had accused the girl who attended on him had encouraged to massage his whole body. It is she who had made several proposals to him. Hence on her insistance I felt and stroked her breast as she gave in willingly.
The Ex-Ambassador is 77 years old. He had been a Member of Parliament for Gampaha during the regime of the JR. His father had been a wealthy businessman from Heiyantuduwa, Gampaha had owned 14 elephants and lived in a huge old ‘Walauwa’. He was son the of Heiyantuwuwa Ralahamy, a well known politician and a reputed businessman.
The trial was heard in the Old Bailey Courts. The Magistrate took into careful consideration all facts of the case and through all evidence had proved and given the verdict in favour of the SPA girl’s allegation. After he was proved guilty he was ordered to pay a fine amounting to Stg pounds 7420/-.
The former Ambassador felt ashamed and embarrassed. He made a desperate plea to the Magistrate that he is not in a position to pay the fine and he is living with his son and had gifted all his wealth to his children and he is in receipt of a monthly meagre pension of Stg. Pounds 100/- only.
The Magistrate ordered the courts to verify about his assets and fing out his real financial position of the Ex- Ambassador. The proceedings of the ‘Trial’ had been elaborately published in the London ‘Telegraph’ paper and other popular newspapers over UK. They had ridiculed the former Sri Lankan Ambassador having brought shame to Sri Lanka, particularly as a ‘diplomat’.
