EARTH SLIP ON SOUTHERN HIGHWAY

Earth slip near the 42.5 KM post before Welipenna exit point:

Yesterday on the Southern Express Highway between Dodangoda and Welipenna near the 42.5 km post there had been an earth slip preventing vehicles to travel. As a result the vehicles that were travelling towards Galle had to be halted.
There of course was one alternative. Those who travelled from Kottawa to Galle were advised to divert from the exit point at Dodangoda and to re-enter the southern express highway from Welipenna entrance point. However the road was cleared to traffic in a few hours and the southern express way was cleared for traffic and it became normal.
