“I am thankful to the Sri Lankans for caring so much”-Tony Greig speaks from Australia
66 years old Tony Greig had got to know that the Sri Lankan fans had been really concerned about him after getting to know that he is suffering from lung cancer last week. In order to express his gratitude, he had called ‘News First’ TV channel yesterday.
This is what he had said:
“Everybody knows that Sri Lanka is close to my heart. My relationship with Sri Lanka runs to the past that is even before Sri Lanka won 1996 World Cup. I predicted that Sri Lanka will win the World Cup. Sri Lankan cricket style is grand. At the same time Sri Lankans are a great nation. They expressed their support from the time they have got to know my situation. I have a special feeling in my heart about the Sri Lankans. I am very grateful to you all.”
