PROTEST AT VIDYALOKA COLLEGE AT GALLE

The Principal who had come to assume duties had been treated with stones, water in polythene bags

There had been a huge uproar at Vidyaloka College, Galle when the new Principal had gone to the school to take up duties.
Students and their parents have gathered at the school demonstrate against the new Principal. The Principal who had come out after following the religious rituals had been attacked with stones, flower pots and shopping bags filled with water. His vehicle too had been damaged. It was reported that the Principal had been taken out by the Police who had come for his rescue.
This had been organized by the Provincial Council Minister, Ven. Baddegama Samitha Thera together with the parents of the students.
It was reported that a teacher and four students have been injured by this incident and they have been hospitalized. At the same time, SSP Vaas Gunawardena and some other officers too have been injured by this incident.
The school had been temporary closed.
