Police is carrying out investigations about the suicide of the Major as there have been contradictions between the depositions given by the 17 year old girl and her father.
Thus, much new information has been revealed through these investigations. It has been revealed that the girl’s father had been in partnership business with the Major.
The Major had shown a fake identity card in which he had shown that he is 27 years when he had been really 37 years old. It was also revealed that the girl also had faked about her age when she had been only 17 years. She had said that she is 18 years old. They have faked about her age to get her married off to the Major.
The police have started investigations about a SMS that had been received by another lady army officer.

The SMS has been received the day before the major died (17th September). The SMS is said to be sent by a Lady Army Officer. She has texted “Sir, you are in trouble, Sir your life relied on Miss. Please save your life”. Major’s girl friend had texted her back saying: “I can’t do anything about that life. I have stopped that relationship. Major commited suicide on the following day (18th) after meeting the girl and her father. Police have started investigations on these messages.
Major had met the girl’s parents to apologize from them for not telling them that he was once married. There the major has given a bag to the girl’s father telling her: “Sister, Study well!” He had given a laptop, key of his cab and some documents related to the cab vehicle.” It had been revealed that the girl’s parents had intended to get her married to the Major. Even though her 17th birthday had been on the 29h, she had pretended it to be her 18th birthday.
The Major has brought a cake to celebrate her birthday and had asked her to come to Matara. Major who had thought that she will be 18 had lit 18 candles. They have gone to Matara beach. It had been revealed that they have cut the cake on the vehicle seat where he had died later.
Just like the girl the Major too had faked about his age. Major who had been born in 1976 had cheated her saying that he had been born in 1986.
Major who had cheated her saying that he is only 27 years old had promised to marry her in January. The girl’s father had been a retired Sergeant Major and he had been used by the Major to buy goods that have been auctioned at the port. It had been revealed that the girl’s father had invested 13 lacks into that business and that the profit had been banked to her mother’s account. It had been revealed that once the profit which had been 10 lacks had been deposited into the girl’s mother’s bank account.
It had been revealed that the girl and her family had gone on a trip with the Major and they have visited Hambathota Port, Kataragama, Yala, Nuwara Eliya and back to Colombo. They have spent three days on the trip. It had been also revealed that the cab has faced an accident and afterwards the cab had been parked at the girl’s residence at Kamburupitiya to get it repaired.
