“What was told by the girl that she saw the Major only for the first time is false”:
“The Major had gone on trips with the girl friend’s family:”
“The latest secrets which supersedes that the girl had got to know the Major through a “missed call” and Face book revealed”:
The reports on the Major committing suicide inside his double cab last week have been proved as false. It has been found and proved that the Major had moving closely and having had close links with the girl’s family for a number of months. After committing suicide more facts had been revealed through his laptop which was handed over to the girl’s father. There had been about 200 photographs that had been saved in the laptop by him with the girl and her parents.
The photographs had revealed that the Major had taken the girl and her parents to Yala and the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens. Before committing suicide the Major had handed over a bundle of good wishes he had received from the girl to her parents saying “it is better you’ll keep them”.
In the first instance the girl had come to know the Major through a “missed call”. Then the relationship had developed through the Face Book. The girl was to sit for the G.C.E (Ordinary Level) examination for the second time. They had been constantly communicating over the mobiles, face book and ‘skype’. The girl had said that they had met four times earlier. The Major had met the girl while she was going for tuition classes. The Major was 37 years old was 20 years elder to her.
For her last birthday the Major had presented her with a laptop. After that they were able to speak at length over the ‘skype’ during nights for long lengths of time. According to information given to the Police by the neighbours the Major had visited the girl’s house on a number of occasions. The cab vehicle had been kept once for some days by the father of the girl as it needed repairs.
It is puzzling to note as to why the girl father declined to give his girl in marriage to the Major quoting the reason as he was married. It is difficult to understand why the girl’s father said this as he had been visiting her for nearly nine months to their place. This was probably as the Major was married and having two children. The Major’s wife had seen the incident while watching television on the day the incident occurred.
She had filed a divorce case a few months back. The Judge had ordered the Major to pay Rs 8000/- as compensation for maintenance for which he had agreed. She had advised to stop his love affair so that they could live happily as earlier. She had found the girl’s mobile number and had telephoned her requesting her to stop the affair. The major had asked his wife for Rs 75,000/- to pay the leasing instalments of his vehicle, which she had given.
After the incident of committing suicide the girl’s mother has had Rs 70,000/- in her hand bag. When questioned she had told that that sum was kept to purchase some electrical equipment for the house. The Police is suspecting that this sum may have been received from the Major, what was given to him by his wife.
The girl’s father had been a Sergeant Major in the Army, now retired. As the facts found earlier are contradicting to what has been revealed later, the Police are conducting further investigations.
