Malaka did not assault me- Major gives up the case:
By producing and submitting an affidavit to the Courts Major Pradeep Surasena has requested to withdraw all allegations probed into the case filed by the Police in courts yesterday where the Magistrate ordered Malaka Silva and seven others to be remanded until the 24 th of this month.
The incident had occurred at the JAIC hotel a five star hotel on the September 9th when up to yesterday the Police had failed to arrest Malaka Silva and seven others until they surrendered to the Police and produced before the Fort Magistrate.
The plaintiff, the Army Major had confessed via this affidavit that Malaka Silva and Rohan Wijeratna did not assault him and were not at all involved in a clash.
The Major had disclosed via his affidavit that he wished to settle this issue amicably, which he had informed the Magistrate Kanishka Wijeratna.
There is some serious suspicion that the Army major may have been influenced to take this decision and may be through a threat and duress.
