BIKKHUNI ORDINATION AT HORANA

An Italian woman Professor from a University in Taiwan and a woman Doctor from Germany ordinate as Bikkhuni’s to Sasanaya in Horana:

Leaving all comforts in life behind two highly educated women from Italy and Germany had come to Sri Lanka to be ordained as Bikkhuni. This special event had taken place yesterday at Horana ‘Balaboduwa Bena Arya’ meditation centre.
One woman is a professor in a University in Taiwan while the other woman is a practicing Doctor in Germany both foreign women before ordained as Bikkhuni had confessed that they needed to get sufficient knowledge and more acquaintance about how to attain the supreme bliss of Nirvana through the journey of Sansara. For this needed enough mental strength. Both had decided to get ordained for this reason.
Before ordination they had practiced for long hours in meditating. At present through practice they could stay stationery for hours ranging from 4 to 5 hours. They are of the view that the concept of meditation they could find a means of a path to Sansara much easily. The intention of attaining the supreme bliss of Nirvana is the ultimate goal of the Bikkhuni’s.
In this manner the two Bikkhuni’s who got ordained are a 32 year old Italian National Juliyana who had been a Chancellor at the Dharnadram University in Taiwan and 42 year old German National Headwicg, a practicing doctor.
