TRUE STORY OF THE INCIDENT NEAR KOLLUPITIYA RAILWAY TRACK

True story of the man who got stuck and strangled between two rocks  near Kollupitiya railway track

Last week we published a ’Sirasa’ video of a person who was stuck, between two rocks near Kollupitiya railway track.
This man was saved with the help of the staff of a fire brigade and the residents of that area and was admitted to hospital. He was unable to speak for a few days. When he has now started talking, it has been realized that the stories created by the media both print and electronic have been proved false.
He has been telling that some unknown persons have been trying to kill him. As recorded the story is as below. He is a 20 year boy named Dinesh Sharma. Even though he is a Hindu born in Jaffna, he had been working in Colombo in a temple (kovil) since he was 15 years old.
He reports the incident to a newspaper as below:
“I have worked in a temple since I was 15 years old. I met my girl friend when I was working at a kovil in Panchikawatta. She had been in a relationship with another guy. He is in working in Qatar. My girl friend doesn’t like him. Her family also did not like him and encouraged me to marry her. We had our registration on the 12th of this month even though we were to register on the 18th. Two of my very good friends too were there. They wanted me to throw a party for them. Since I don’t drink, I told them that I will pay for them.
I came to Kollupitiya beach with my two friends on the 17th at around 7.40 PM. When we were there, some people came were and they took my two friends in a three wheeler. Other people stayed and took all my jewelries. Then, they took me to a cave where couples spend time and they stuck me in. Then they kept a huge stone and I was stuck inside…. It was about 10 o’clock.
The story of the train is all false. The train was somewhere else and we were somewhere else. I didn’t jump off the railway track, I was stuck inside. My wife’s ex-boy friend was the one who perhaps masterminded to kill me. He had used thugs to kill me.
I don’t know where my two friends are now. My wife will come to see me in the evening. We were to take our registration today (18th). I think that’s why they tried to kill me on the 17th. I have never seen anyone who came to kill me on that day but I can identify them if I see them again.
I have my mother, father and a brother in my family. I have worked for god in kovils since I was 15 years. God looked after me over these years… I tried my best to come out but the more I tried the more I was pushed inside. I thought I will die and I was half unconscious. I tried a lot to come out and when I failed I prayed for god and closed my eyes.
All of a sudden I heard a huge noise and I felt as if something is cracking on my head. I heard people talking and then I knew that it was morning. God has sent help. Fire brigade has come to rescue me.
I can’t remember anything after that. My birthday is on the 28th of this month. Till that I was told that it will be a bad period. I was asked to take care of myself. I have worked for god and I haven’t done anything wrong to anyone. This is such a bad period. I have to be very careful until by bad period ends. I will have some good time after the 28th.”
