‘THE CENTRAL’ RECEPTIONIST’S UNEXPECTED NUISANCE

The bribery gang who lifted “The Central’ receptionist had got their plans backfired:

The lady receptionist of Maradana ‘The Central’ private hospital while coming walking for work near the National Hospital area had been stopped by a vehicle carrying a bribery gang lead by a person who was clad in Police like uniform.
This disguised Police officer had confessed that he is from the Police Intelligence unit and they wanted to take a statement from her and had requested her to get into the vehicle. She had not thought it was a genuine request and had got into the motor vehicle.
They had told her not to shout and they had driven along Havelock Road towards Homagama. This incident had occurred on last Tuesday morning. The gang had robbed of her jewellery, cash and other belongings and had told that she wanted them back she needed to pay them a ransom of Rs two lakhs .After taking her telephone number the gang had released her.
She had received repeated telephone calls afterwards that in the event she needed her belongings and the jewellery for her to bring along a sum of Rs 2 lakhs and meet them at an institution near town hall at a specific time. In the meantime she had made a complaint to the Police about the incident . The Police wast around there while she came to hand over the ransom to the gang. At the time the receptionist arrived at that specific place to hand over the cash the Police who were hiding in the vicinity was able to apprehend the robbers. It later on revealed that the bogus Police officer had served the Police but not in service as he had been on interdiction.
Further investigations in this regard are been conducted by the Police.
