Live at 8 stops halfway owing to an unexpected fire:
8.55 P.M
The Swarnavahini TV channels usual Live @ 8 news bulletin had abruptly intervened and had to be stopped at 8.15 p.m. yesterday the 21st.This was known later as due to smoke that emerged in to the studio premises owing to probably due a technical fault in the electrical circuit.
Until the defect was identified and rectified the live news bulletin had to be stopped and the rest of the news bulletin was not shown. The remaining minutes of the scheduled programme was spent showing TV commercials.
However the subsequent program, a Tele drama scheduled at 8.30 p.m. was telecast on time.
However the authorities of the Swarnavahini channel did inform from time to time that the Live @ 8 was interrupted without completing fully, due to circumstances beyond their control as an apology.
A few months back the daily ‘Mulpituwa’ program at 6.30 a.m. on a certain day was interrupted when a cat had jumped into that particular studio. This incident was published in our web site under the caption ‘Mulpituwa Cat’s meow, meow’ HERE
