Hiru TV news makes blunders

Even though, Hiru TV was launched in the month of July, Hiru TV news started only two weeks ago. Many viewers expected something new but quite the opposite has happened as it was a mixture adapted from Swarnawahini  and Sirasa news.

Even though, Hiru TV started news stating “news without stories”, criticisms point out that it is a failed version of Swarnavahini Live @ 8.  Swarnavahini’s Live @ 8 brings political stories through “Kiyana katha” in such a way so that we can laugh and forget them. Hiru TV has copied the same thing and thus they bring it under another heading called “Weta Nethi Kata”.
Media people say that many who work in Hiru news are the ones who have left Swarnavahini’s Live @ 8. At the same time, reading Hiru news as a background of the story, it can be viewed like Sirasa news.

Thus, it seems that Hiru TV is still in its infant stage. Some of the mistakes made by Hiru news have been reported. They gave publicity when they first started news and on the first day, first news telecast was telecasted at 7.00 P.M but the second telecast was not telecasted due to a technical failure.
It was also reported that they have been telecasting a news line like all the other channels. The interesting part was that they have published various headlines in the news line which have not been read for news. One of them was that Hiru news has published the arrival of Ban Ki Moon on the 21st of this month. Even though it was not read in news, this is how it was published in the news line:

“Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki Moon will arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow”

As told by Hiru TV, Ban Ki Moon has not yet arrived Sri Lanka.
The second one was on yesterday the 27th about Kapilavastupura relics:

“Kapilavastupura relics will be taken to Matale”But on reality, Kapilavastupura relics have been taken to Kanthale and not to Matale.
Hiru FM had been banned once for publishing false news.
