DAYASIRI HAD CRIED AT ANURADHAPURA

Dayasiri while saying that he will never leave the United National Party during his speech had “SHED TEARS’:

During the past few days there was a tremendous uproar in the political circles about a rumour that the Member of Parliament for the Kurunegala district Dayasiri Jayasekera was to cross over to the Government.
At a meeting held at Anuradhapura yesterday the Member of Parliament Dayasiri Jayasekera had totally denied this rumour and had vouched for his supporters that he will never leave the party and join the Government while “Shedding tears”.
The incident had taken place like this.
When the Member of Parliament Dayasiri jayasekera was arriving for the meeting the party supporters had flocked around him and had made a plea “not to leave the UNP and join the Government. Please be with us forever”.
He had sat on the platform of the stage alongside the Member of Parliament for Galle district and the Media Spokesman of the UNP Gayantha Karunatillake and Member of Parliament Chandra Bandara. When his turn came to address the gathering he brought out this matter and he had elaborated his stand clearly to his supporters by quipping that “I will never leave the United National Party and join the government even if offered the maximum amount of money”. He emphasised that he had never earned money by becoming a politician and he has no plans even to earn money after coming to power and his sole intention is to serve the people and the country. While saying this to the audience he had ‘SHED TEARS” becoming very emotional, such that even his speech had to be interrupted for a moment until he came back to his normal self.
