A ‘Centipede’ makes an Engineer’s cab vehicle to go ‘Zig -Zag’on the main road at Panadura
It was reported from near the ‘CROSS’ junction at Panadura that owing to the excitement caused due to the tickling feeling of his shoe faced by the driver of a cab vehicle, he had been unable to control the vehicle he was driving as his concentration on the steering wheel was lost. This had caused the cab vehicle to go ‘Zig-Zag’ on the main road at Panadura causing four accidents to occur.
The real story reported is like this:
An Engineer had been driving his blue coloured double cab vehicle along the Panadura main road. While driving he had suddenly felt the tickling in one of his shoes for which he had got excited .He had immediately while driving looked at his shoe which was on the accelerator. He had observed that a large Centipede was trying to come out of his shoe.
At that moment he had drawn his attention to the Centipede who was trying to come out of his shoe than on the steering wheel of his cab vehicle. Owing to loss of concentration the cab vehicle had moved from the left side of the vehicle to the right side of the road without his knowledge.
While his vehicle moved to the wrong side of the vehicle it had collided with a three wheeler which had been thrown aside and then the vehicle had collided with a motor cyclist before banging on to a parapet wall of a dwelling house where the vehicle had stopped by breaking the parapet wall as well in the collision. Those who saw the mishap had told that they had seen the vehicle traveling in a ‘Zig-Zag’ manner.
During the collision with the three wheeler,it had overturned. There had been three passengers in it. A father, mother and a small girl who had travelled in connection with a conference they had to attend in connection with the girl’s scholarship examination. All three had sustained injuries.
The Police who arrived had arrested the driver of the vehicle. The engineer who drove the vehicle had related the story of the Centipede which led to this mishap. At the end the Police was able to locate and remove the centipede that was lying under the rubber carpet of the cab vehicle.
