A ‘bogus’ CID Officer had been nabbed by the Police after eight years at a’ love spot’:
A bogus CID officer in the Horana area who had been a headache for many lovers over the years had been caught by the Police.
This person had been an Army deserter who has had in his possession a number of valuable items such as mobile phones, jewellery and other valuables which he had shrewdly taken from the lovers who patronised the’ love spot’, when the Police ultimately nabbed him.
The bogus CID officer had been in the habit of spying the ‘love spots’ in the Horana areas where lovers used to meet often.
He had drawn his own strategies to rob the lovers of their valuable belongings when they spend their own time at these spots known to him. He is smartly dressed and sports a moustache and he resembles a ‘CID’ officer. He is quite capable of gauging the type of couples who come while hiding whether they are having any means or not.
He acts in the manner of a CID officer. He says “ Mallie stop for a moment. This is my identity card. I am a CID officer. I have been sent to apprehend those young lovers who patronise these public places which are prohibited for such acts
.Mallie because both of you had come here you’ll will have to give a statement. Give me your identity card or any other valuable belonging, which you could collect at the Police Station.”
Naturally these young lovers do not like to go to the Police station and usually makes a plea to the bogus CID officer please do not let the Police know about this incident.
He then says
“okay I will free both of you but tell me,what are the valuables you have now in your possession.”
He then grabs the opportunity and grabs all the jewellery and other valuables that are in their possession. The lovers who were cheated come to know that they have been cheated and had thought that they will never come to that spot again. However they had gone to the Police Station and were told that there is complaint of that sort lodged against them.
Sometime later three couples had gone to the same ‘love spot’ and they too had been caught to the same bogus CID officer. The boys had complained to the Police and the Police on a later day had been successful in nabbing this ‘bogus’ CID officer who had been robbing the ‘lovers’ at the same spot which he had been indulged in for over eight years and is supposed to be an Army deserter.
What he had burgled over the years was taken into the custody of the Police and he is to be produced before the Horana Magistrate Courts.
