VENUS TRANSIT DAZZLES VIEWERS AROUND THE WORLD

Today’s Transit of Venus

Transit of Venus which can be viewed once in a decade can be viewed today in the sky. This transit had started at 3.39 am from Sri Lanka. Even though we were unable to view the start as the sun has not risen to Sri Lanka at 3.39 a.m, we could see it until 10.20 a.m.
What happens here is that when the planet Venus travels across the sun and the earth, we can see it as a dot on the sun.
It is reported that another transit of Venus will take place in another 105 years.
It is also said that, when we view the transit of Venus from the earth, we can observe Venus travelling across the surface of sun from the North Hemisphere of the sun.
At the same time, observing the transit of Venus through naked eyes can cause eye defects. Thus, it is recommended to view its reflection on the water or with the use of some protective layer.
