SRI LANKAN AIRLINE CHIEF’S RUPEES FORTY LAKHS WORTH WRIST WATCH RECOVERED:



The drug addict thief had confessed that when he knew via the media the wrist watch he robbed was that of the First Lady’s brothers’ he was very scared:

The Sri Lanka Airways chief Nishantha Wickremasinghe’s house at De Saram Road, Mt Lavinia was burgled on the 8th of this month. The thief had robbed a ‘Rolex’ wrist watch worth Rs 40 lakhs and other articles including US $ cash notes amounting to about Rupees 40 lakhs.
The suspect’s home at Dehiwala was cordoned off by the Mt Lavinia police and had searched the house. The stolen articles were found safely kept inside a box. The Police were able to recover the stolen wrist watch and the dollar notes.
The thief a drug addict had confessed that he was unaware that the house he burgled belonged to the First lady’s brother. When he knew that he was very scared.
He has entered the house by breaking through a window of the bathroom. Both the Chief of the Sri Lankan Airline and his wife had been away from home. He had stolen the expensive wrist watch and foreign cash by breaking an almairah. The Police had sufficient confirmation about the drug addict thief by comparing his fingerprints.
