The body of a dead woman who had died by taking poison has been buried by force in front of the house of the illegal brother-in-law:
A widower had died by taking poison owing to cover the shame she had to face for carrying on an illegal love affair with her deceased husband’s elder brother. The dead body when was taken for buriel to the cemetery, the route had been changed by a group of angry men had buried the body in front of the house of the illegal husband who as none other than her own dead husband’s brother. This unusual incident as reported from the Embilipitiya area.
The dead woman was only 29 years old, a mother of three children. Her husband had died a few years back from the dreaded cancer decease. It is learnt from well informed sources that after her husband’s death she had been very secretly carrying on a love affair with the husband’s elder brother, living also in the vicinity.
She had been caught red handed by her brother-in-law’s wife, who had known of this illegal love affair much earlier. The brother-in law’s wife had protested to this illegal love affair severely from the time she came to be aware of it. Owing to the shame the widower had taken poison and committed suicide.
After the religious rituals the corpse was taken to the cemetery for burial.
A group of people had diverted the route to the cemetery and taken the procession along another route which had to pass the dead woman’s brother-in-law’s house. They had dug a large pit in front of his house and had buried the body. The Brother-in-law had complained to the Police who had informed courts who had ordered the body to be taken out and buried in the cemetery. A District Courts order has also been received as a post mortem is also due to be made to find the cause of death.
