WAS IT SUICIDE OR HOMICIDE OF YOUNG MONK AT IMADUWA TEMPLE

The young monk of Imaduwa Raja Maha Viharaya Temple was killed or had committed suicide?

It is reported from a Raja Maha Viharaya temple in Imaduwa, Galle that a  young monk 24 years old had committed suicide by hanging on to a Mango tree at the temple premises, in front of the ‘Dharma Salawa’.
Still it is yet to be confirmed that whether it had been a suicide or a homicide?
This incident had happened at the historical Raja Maha Viharaya temple, at Paragoda, Imaduwa, Galle. The incident had occurred on the 18th.Near the tree where the body it was seen  a mobile phone too had been seen hung from a branch of the mango tree.
About three months ago a story was reported that some unknown people had broken the upper part of a huge Buddhist statue that as in the shrine room. It is learnt that this may have been done by treasure hunters. The culprits were not caught. The deceased monk had been very concerned about this incident it is learnt, as even through Police investigations could not bring the culprits to book.
Regarding this incident of the death of the monk ,it appears that there seems that it is connected to the earlier incident. The deceased monk has been a relative son of the Chief Incumbent of this Paragoda Raja Maha Viharaya, who had ordained the deceased monk when he was only 5 years old.
According to the Chief Incumbent of the Raja Maha Viharaya,the deceased monk had enthusiastically involved in the activities of the temple and had on his initiative organized several events during the Vesak season.
The post mortem had been carried out yesterday and Police is conducting investigations.
