SUSPECTS INVOVED IN KOTTE MURDER IDENTIFIED

Five monks at Kotte Raja Maha Viharaya identify suspects of the dual murders of the monks.

The court case for the crucial dual murder case of the Kotte monks was held yesterday the 20th. The relevant suspects were correctly identified by the monks.
The suspects identified are Nammuniarachchige Suresh Chanaka (21 years old) a resident of Bodagama Thanamalvila and Pathirage Harsha Manju Sri Manakirthi (26 years old) a resident of Maharagama Godigamuwa.
In investigations it was found that Suresh Chanaka who had been a monk and then disrobed had stabbed the two monks. Harsh Manju has been the master behind this plan who is said be a Basnayake Nilame and Insurance officer. They have tried to rob the money in the temple.
The dual murder case had taken place on the 20th of March around 9.45 P.M. Harsha was arrested at his Maharagama residence after two hours of the murder and Chanaka was arrested on the following day by the Tanamalvila by the Police.
The identification parade was held before the Acting Magistrate at Nugegoda Tissa Wijeratne and the two suspects who were identified were sent to the remand prison until the 04th of next month.
