POPULAR ACTRESSES’ “HASHISH” DRUGS PARCEL CAUGHT AT CENTRAL MAIL EXCHANGE:

A foreign National who came as a representative to a famous actress to clear a parcel addressed to her was caught my customs officials:

A parcel had been sent from Kandy supposed to contain some heaps of magazine parcels in the name of a famous actress to the Central Mail Exchange.
She had delegated authority through a letter giving firm instructions to hand over the parcel on her behalf to a third party, a foreign National.
The popular actress had not come in person as she would have been aware that the parcel contained the drug ‘Hashish’ hidden somewhere. The proper authority had been given to clear the parcel to the foreign National.
There had been three parcels of magazines. When the customs officials opened a parcel which contained about 150 magazines they had opened the parcel. In some pages it had been very tactfully made squares in some pages and the drug ‘”Hashish’ were placed within the squares.
The foreign National who was obviously concerned and guilty had started to bolt away. The custom officials were able to successfully apprehend him and hand him over to the Police. The Police Narcotics Bureau was informed and they had confirmed that it was the drug “Hashish’.
