ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL TRANSPORTATION OF GOATS

“The ladies inside vehicle were all Muslims. They were to a large extent were very shy. That’s why they have covered their faces and were reluctant to open the doors at a security check.”
-    The driver of the vehicle in which goats were transported says:

A driver and the assistant who had transported goats illegally had been caught from Seru Nuwara at Kantale. They have said that they are taking some Muslim ladies when caught.
They have been caught at Seru Nuwara at a Police barrier. They had been  transporting illegally about 40 goats worth of about Rs10 lacks without a license.
This lorry had travelled to Colombo and the Police who had suspected it had stopped the vehicle to question them. In answer to them the driver has said:
“Some Muslim women are seated behind. They want to go abroad… We are on our way to Katunayake.”
The Police have asked them to open doors and in order to avoid it, the driver in reply had said: “they are too shy… they are covering their heads so they don’t like opening the door.”
  The police had suspected something due to bad smell that had emanated. The police who hadn’t been satisfied with the answer had forced them to open the door. To their surprise, there had been about 40 goats in the vehicle illegally transported.
The Muslim driver and the helper who had been residents of Colombo had been arrested as they have tried to mislead the Police and they have been sent before Kantale courts yesterday.
