ANGELA SPEAKS ABOUT THE INCIDENT:

“About the incident regarding the ‘Hashish’ parcel at the Central Mail Exchange, the Media without responsibility had boldly stated that I had disappeared and fled the country”.
The popular actress Angela Seneviratna was able to be contacted over the phone by our web site “Gossiplankanews.com”. She confessed that she was very surprised, disturbed and perturbed by the information published in the newspapers that she had disappeared. She had already contacted the Police Media Spokesman in this regard and had made enquiries.

Is it true about the story that you have disappeared and fled the Island?

“I am here in person. According to the newspapers it is stated that I had bolted and fled the country.It was over 10 years ago I was residing at No 67, Hudson Road, Colombo 3.After I left. I had never sighted the place or kept a foot on that house. I never knew who came and who went out of that place”.

Did the Police inquire about it?

“Until now there had been no investigations about the incident. I have sent a message to the Police Media Spokesman, Ajith Rohana to find out what this all about. They are looking into the mater why this parcel was sent to my earlier address in my name. Anyone could send a letter quoting someone else’s name. I do not know who accepted the letter addressed to me requesting to come and collect the parcel”.

Is it true that you had written the consent letter in your own handwriting?

“I have never given a letter to a foreigner or a Sri Lankan to go the Central Mail Exchange delegating authority to clear the parcel. It is very difficult to forge my signature, I reiterate. By just signing as Angela Seneviratne anyone could go and clear the parcel.”

Is it true that this house belongs to you?

“This is a house that is normally given on rent. When my husband was working at the Hotel Oberoi, the house was rented out by Hotel Oberoi to a Sri Lankan family domiciled in Australia. I left the house over 10 years ago. Since then I do not know who came and who went out of it and do not at all concern me who had lived there.”

Then who is the true owner?

“The true owner is M/s Singer Company’s Amarasuriya’s brother –in-law.”

This subject has now spread like wild fire. What do you propose doing?

“I have been involved in the film industry. I have absolutely no time to get indulged in this type of activities. I intend to publish a Media release through my lawyers.”
