DEATHS OF MOTHER AND CHILD VISITORS FROM DUBAI, DID IT OWE TO FOOD POISONING?

Deaths of Mother and Child arrived from Dubai was because of food poisoning from food consumed from Ethihad airline or from the hotel they selected to rest at Dandugama, Seeduwa

The dead woman and child belong to a Royal family in UAE:

A couple from Dubai with their child 1 ½ years old had arrived from Dubai last Wednesday were admitted to a Private hospital on Wattala, owing to a sudden illness, a feeling of uneasiness. The Mother and child had died subsequently while the Husband was in critical condition. It is reliably learnt that they hailed from a Royal family in UAE. When this news was heard by those connected to the Royal family, immediately a team of Medical Personnel and a group was flown to Sri Lanka to conduct investigations with regard to these deaths.
Earlier it was revealed that the deaths may have been due to the ‘bug’ insecticide that was stored in the adjoining room, in the hotel where they had occupied. This was not proved as the cause and medical investigations had revealed it had been owing to food poisoning. The Judiciary Medical Officer confirmed after investigating the critically ill. The husband, 25 year old , Mohammed Ali Babai Al Mayuri who had said:
“We had come on a tour of Sri Lanka via the Ethilad Airline from Dubai and had landed at katunayake at 3.40 a.m. on last Wednesday and wanted to go to spend a holiday in Bentota. They wanted to take a rest in a hotel they preceded to Bentota. They have taken a break at a hotel at ‘Dandugama’, Seeduwa for resting. As all of them felt a bit uneasy they decided to get admitted to a Vijaya Kumaranatunga Memorial hospital in Wattala. From there they were transferred to the Negombo General hospital. Since they felt better they once more came back to the hotel. As they again felt bad they once again entered the private hospital. When they were questioned all of them had lately consumed ‘chicken’ while on board the plane.”
 The Mother and the 1 ½ year old Child had died and their bodies were taken to the Ragama Teaching Hospital for a post mortem to the mortuary. The post mortem was delayed as the relatives wanted to bring a team of investigators to conduct an inquiry.
The Mother, Halal Saywed (22) and the Son Ali Mohamed Alhasar ( 1 ½) who were dead and the Husband hailed from a Royal Family in the UAE.As a special team was to visit Sri Lanka the Police had told to postpone the post mortem. The Police had told the team is due to arrive in Sri Lanka would join in the post mortem investigations. It was also said that the post mortem would not to allow to, cut the bodies as it is against the law under the religion of Islam.
The Magistrate of Magistrates courts of Wattala had ordered the Judiciary Medical Officer of Ragama Teaching hospital to postpone the post mortem until the team from Dubai arrived. But up to the 15th evening the post mortem had not been held.
The family who visited Sri Lanka had lived inUAE called vadi Kubi located on a hill. The husband is supposed to hold the post of a police officer in the UAE.
It is also learnt that they had consumed some ‘Rotti’ brought from the plane and child had been given milk with the milk powder they had brought from Dubai.
Once they decided to stay in a room for resting it was revealed that a ‘bug’ insecticide had been kept inside the adjoining room and had been told not to remove them for 72 hours on the instructions of the insecticide supplier.
The balance food brought from the aircraft to the hotel had been handed over to the Government analyst together with samples of insecticides found in the hotel room for investigations.
The dead bodies are to be taken back to Dubai to conduct the final funeral rites according to their religious rituals at the request of the team that arrived from Dubai.
In this connection the Secretary to the Ministry of Justice Kamalini de Silva had consented but  the permission of the Ministry of Tourism is sought for which she is awaiting advise.
