For reporting late to office or for not reporting for work are to be given redress
- Secretary to the Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs:
It has been announced by the Secretary to the Minister of Public Administration and Home affairs, P.B. Abeykoon that is has been decided to offer redress to all government employees who either reported late or did not report for duty at all owing the sudden private bus strike. All Ministries had been advised to act accordingly without any penalisation for coming late or been absent from work. Those who reported for work also had been granted permission to leave office early.
The Government employees are waiting anxiously until the final ruling and decision is made. It is also in the case of employees in the private sector who too had to be faced with the similar situation.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration & Home Affairs has informed all Secretaries of all Ministries to take their independent decisions in this regard.
