JACKSON’S FEMALE CHILDHOOD

Childhood of Jackson resembled that of a female child.

Last Saturday a morning programme was telecast over ‘Sirasa’TV in which the popular actor Jackson Anthony related and interpreted about his peculiar childhood days recollecting that he was brought up as female child. Even before he was born it was predicted that he would be born as a baby girl and he was to named as “Seetha Malsi”. To everyone’s surprise he was born as a male child and he was named as ”Kondanige Joseph Malsiri Jackson Anthony”, he quipped during the programme.
When he was born he had weighed 10 lbs. His mother has had very hard times until he was delivered. Although he was a male he always wore frocks and to go with is a female hair style with two “Plats”, which is usually seen among girls. He remembered these incidents while recollecting his past.
When he entered school he had to change his attire and also he had to cut his hair for which he was highly worried. He initially studied in a mixed School, but the boys and girls were in separate classes.
He had taken part in many stage plays in school but he had always selected to portray the role of a female character. He had portrayed the roles of ‘Nari Bena’, ’Kirihamine’ and ‘Gamduwa’ which are some of the famous female roles he was selected to portray. It was always female roles he was entrusted to perform.
