Desperate attempts were made by Nalinda Premaratna to find sponsors to make a video for this song. Many sponsors were reluctant to launch on the project as it would never be a ‘hit’. But he never gave up. With the financial help of his friends, well wishes and out of his own funds this music video was made.
This song has now become a ‘hit’. This was a lesson and a challenge for music video production companies who only make videos to be ‘hits’. The theme is all about disabled people; their feelings about the world had been well interpreted by the lyrics of the video song. The singer is Mekhala Gamage a native of Hambantota, born blind and is graduate of the Sri Jayewardenapura University. Although she had entered the university to obtain a degree in Music, she was deprived of this opportunity and had to be contented in obtaining a degree in Buddhist culture.
To the visual of this sorrowful video the producer had ideally selected in addition to the blind vocalist, two disabled persons and a mentally retarded person.
