Hirunika to Politics
Hirunika Premachandra daughter of slain former M.P. Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra has revealed to the media that she intends entering to Politics.
“Thaththa was such a popular person. Where are the people of the other faction who shot Thaththa. Thaththa has not left anything for us. He only has earned the hearts of the people. To assist Thaththa my mother also left her job. My younger brother is still studying. I told Thaththi that incompetent people have been nominated to contest. He told me do not be in a hurry right now. I was abroad for 4 years and came back only last year. During his earlier election campaigns I was right in front. My brother does not like politics .I will not desert the Kolonnawa people. I like to continue to help Kolonnawa people; the manner Thaththi did .My intention is that.”
The letter published in ‘Lakbima’ paper about her views could be read from HERE:
She is in the Modelling field. Some of her pictures are shown below when she participated in the Miss Universe contest:HERE

Dear Hirunika, you don't know me. I like politics too. But my likening of that subject is fading every day. I read your article. My piece of advise to you, please return back to oversees with your brother and mother. After all, no body able to protect your father. Your father worked in the most powerful place or office in the country. But does it protect him. It may be sweet dream for you do politics but for what ? Our people are stupid (I am not insulting them) and don't understand the graveness of these incident. People will forget this incident after his funeral. You will be lonely. Believe my words think twice before entering to politics.
ReplyDeleteJanaka,
ReplyDeleteShe is my cousin, though I live in Canada, one thing is certain; telling her to leave will not do anything. She will stay and fight for what she believes in. I am part of the Premachandra family, and law and politics is in our blood. I am in university and, like Hirunika, I am also studying law.
Well the thing is you cant take quick decisions i accept what #1 is trying to say, if their father who had so much power cudnt survive this,, its really impossible for her to survive in this politics thingy..
ReplyDelete"Gindara Senehasa" is the correct policy here
ReplyDeleteya terrible situation here.. what to do.. politics is political shit.!!
ReplyDeleteWell what I would advice Hirunika would be the same as what the first comment here had stated. I believe life is more important than politics. Life is primary, everything else is just secondary, since you've to live to do everything else.
ReplyDeleteSo if you ever happen to read this Miss.Hirunika, Please do reconsider your though on entering politics. What has happened has happened. You cannot change it, revenge would simply bring about a vicious cycle into life.
Hi All, slain former M.P. Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra, was not man who have lived a peaceful life and also can never claim that his hands are clean he was a tag and also have killed and assaulted many innocent people nevertheless he also have done good and helped people who have been closed to him. but everybody should remember that politics is a shit game in Sri Lanka moreover many fathers who have a bad record have never showed there children or family who they are or what they do so Family is not to be blamed, you people for sure must remember your father will be forgotten in a couple of months if you don't spend money to keep them to remember. Make up your minds give up all the dirty things and dirty politics what your father did since " the one who takes the sword will die of the sword" you are not to be blamed for what your father did so better you give more merit for your father and you live a better life.
ReplyDeleteAgree 100% with #7 comment.
ReplyDeleteHere's unsolicited advice to anyone wants to enter into politics in Sri Lanka. People don't want your help; they don't want you to try and improve things for them. They are just fine living in this hell-hole just the way they are. If they want things improved they'll learn to exercise a couple of brain cells just before drawing a cross on the next ballot.
ReplyDeleteSo, if you want to do politics for any other reason , that's just fine, (taking revenge, making lots of money, treating people like dirt are all good intentions), but don't try to be a do-gooder; we hate do-gooders.
what the hell is this eh? u people deserve this. Ms Hirunika says there is no justice. True. But the thing is did you notice this when your father died? Did you not notice when people are been tied to trees or when people are beaten by some ministers? We knew this already. So I am not surprised. You polititions deserve this, the all of them for destroying this country. Shame on you people
ReplyDeletethe country have been ruled by a criminal human and the surrounding goons are the most worst as all of them are into injustice . i would like to inform miss, hirunika to concentrate on career she could be even a magistrate and highly educated under the category or department of law, does it effect in sri lanka?its being almost a month since her father had been died due to a gun fight and as mentioned above people may forgot everything immediately after the funereal being burnt. if you have a value for your education just leave this topic if not end of the day u have to be in a critical situation
