Duminda to America

It is learnt and reported that M.P. Duminda Silva who has not totally recovered from his brain operation is to me taken to America for further treatment. Although  his family members made constant pleas to the hospital Authorities, to grant permission for him to be taken overseas for treatment.  However at that time their request was turned down as his condition was not that stable and it was advised that it was not prudent to remove him from hospital as it was not good to make his body shake, which would worsen his health condition which was critical at that time.
However as he was very closely monitored, during the past two and a half weeks his health condition had improved to a great extent. Hence the Hospital Authorities have given permission to the request of Duminda’s relatives to take him to overseas-America for further treatment.
Contrasting views were published by various media personnel in regard to his real condition of his recovering. It is difficult to confirm whose version is correct and whose version is wrong. Duminda Silva was the organiser UPFA for the Kolonnawa electorate until this incident of shooting. For this void M.P. Basil Rajapaksa was appointed as the new ‘Organiser”. This appointment had been made only for a period of three months only.
In the meantime it is learnt that this position may be given to Prasanna Solangaarachchi. However about his removal to America further treatment has another legal hitch. Duminda is definitely a suspect to murder of Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra. Hence permission would not be granted legally for him to go abroad. But according to reliable information from Government high officials Duminda Silva is not a suspect to this murder. In this context a final ruling will have to be obtained from Courts.
