An allegation made by Bharatha’s sister to Speaker at funeral house embarrasses him:
To pay last respects to slain politician Bharatha Lakhsman Premachandra’s body, many politicians visited his home at his Kolonnawa residence. Amongst them was the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. Unfortunately he was confronted with a very embarrassing situation when the younger sister of Bharatha a resident of Canada questioned him with regard to several letters she had written to several top Government officials about the threats to Bharatha’s life from Canada.
This allegation was made when the Speaker was seated. She went on to tell him that she regretted that she was surprised that even an acknowledgement was not received to her letters of request to provide him with adequate security. She confessed that if appropriate action was initiated this situation could have been prevented.
The manner Bharatha’s sister spoke really embarrassed the Speaker and he kept silent as he would have thought that it was not the time to give explanation to Bharatha’s sister for the allegations made.
Subsequently Bharatha’s brother said this to the media: “It is very surprising that Bharatha had been shot at by 40 odd bullets, which we cannot believe. He had been brutally killed more than like an animal. In this context we need justice meted out and adequate redress.”
The ‘Sirasa’ video below shows the manner the Speaker was made to face severe embarrassment.
The speeches made by Bharatha’s brother and son are shown in the ‘Derana’ video below:
Please accept my deepest sympathy. But belive me you don't get any justice on this case. People will remember your father and brother till the funeral. After that he is only one politician got killed by violence. If you don't believe my words, pray for miracle. Chamal also associating with good amount of thugs as well as so called defence secretary Golu Aba also symphathatic about Duminda. This is the person who wants to eradicate thugs, drugs and other vice stuff from Sri Lanka. Good Luck Sri Lankan Citizen. Wake up.
ReplyDeleteJanaka,
ReplyDeleteLay off.
My family lost everything. We will find justice. The good thing about being from Canada is that we have seen other statutes of international law that Sri Lanka has broken. When the LTTE was eradicated there was massive amounts of crimes against humanity. All of which go against the Geneva Convention. By showing that to the media here in Canada, getting justice will be easier for us. We will take MR and Duminda down.
You don't know our family. So don't comment on us or our matters. My uncle's death isn't your problem, it is ours. We are the ones that have to live with the pain for the rest of our lives. We will handle it accordingly.
