Pandemonium outside the Dompe Police
The father of the deceased suffers heart attack after seen body of dead son

10.15 a.m.
In and around the Dompe Police Station there was an uncontrollable situation with protests from the people of the area. The people of the area had surrounded the Dompe Police station had hurled stones causing damages to some Police vehicles and also smashing glass windows of the neighbouring houses. It is reported that a youngster who had been taken in as a suspect for a theft case had been shot dead while he was trying to escape from a Police Jeep when he was taken to show the stolen items.
It is reported that the father of the deceased had visited the Police Station. On seen his son’s dead body had collapsed after suffering from a heart attack.

The neighbouring crowd who was reacting angrily to these incidents were difficult to control, hence the assistance of the Special Task Force and the Army had to be summoned. It is reported that owing to this terrible chaos the commuters travelling in the bus route number 224 plying between Pugoda and Colombo had been greatly inconvenienced.

The crowd of over 10,000 had surrounded the Police station, after damaging the vehicles had set fire to the Police station using petrol. They had prevented the fire brigade coming in to the Police station area and forced them to go back.
It is now learnt that the father of the deceased is been treated at the ICU for treatment for the severe heart attack he had sustained for the shock of seen the body of his dead son.
