Where is Sri Lanka located in the World map? Yesterday Minister in Parliament had forgotten our location, perhaps unaware where it is really located in the World map.
He said “Sri Lanka situated in the South East Asia is now a beautiful country, and the Colombo area is now is very exceptionally pleasant.”These words were uttered by Minister Azwer while singing the old hit song ‘Colompure Sriya’.
However, immediately the Opposition M.P. Harsha de Siva said that Minister had not studied the subject, Geography. He quipped saying that Sri Lanka is not a country located in South East Asia but corrected Minister Azwer’s version that Sri Lanka is only a country in South Asia. The entire house erupted with laughter.
He also emphasised that this fact is well known even by a second standard student that Sri Lanka is a country located in South Asia.
