A QUARREL AT Y FM ‘RELAX PARTY’

Bottle attack when Shehan was dancing with girls

Quarrel after the Y FM open air theatre show was over

Last Saturday (10th) on behalf of a group of youngsters who had completed the GCE (Adv Level) a DJ party called a ‘relax party’,  organised by Y FM was held at the Vihara Maha Devi open air theatre. After a quarrel 3 had been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital while 5 who were suspected to have been involved in the fight have been produced by the Police to courts.
While Shehan was dancing with girls on stage bottles had been hurled at them. According to those who were in the audience had told that when Shehan was singing two beautiful girls had got on to the stage and had danced embracing Shehan. It is reported that some youngsters had hurled bottles at them.
The quarrel had really begun after the show was over which had gone into late night between two fractions in the audience. The Cinnamon Gardens Police had come to the scene and intervened to stop the quarrel. The Police had arrested 5 suspects all from Makola area. The injured are been treated at the Colombo National Hospital. The suspects when produced by the Police to courts, the Colombo’s Chief Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli had ordered them to be remanded until the 16th.
When the General Manager of the Y FM Thanuja Jayawardena was contacted by the Gossiplanka news, she said she is not aware of any quarrel when the show was on. Everything had happened at the end when the Y FM ‘relax party’ was over. Hence the Y FM cannot be held responsible for what had happened after the show was over.
