Murdered Woman’s Body Found in Reservoir

Mysterious murder at Siyabalangamuwa reservoir
Police sought assistance from the neighbours to recover body

A body of a woman was seen floating in the Galgamuwa Siyabalangamuwa reservoir on the 16th instant. The Police with the assistance of those in the neighbourhood was able to take out the body. During a post mortem held revealed that this woman had been strangled to death. The death may have occurred a few hours prior to recovery of her body and then dumped into the reservoir.
A pair of slippers and some clothes was found in the vicinity and she was found to have worn a chain. She is 5 feet 3 inches in height and her hair was 2 feet in length and her age was predicted to be around 30-35 years old.
To conduct investigations about her murder she has to be identified first. Her body is lying at the Mortuary of the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital. Police is seeking help to identify her. The photographs shown below could give an idea about her.
