DON’T INSULT THE COUNTRY BY “PISSU KELINA” SONGS -President

PRESIDENT SCORNS DEEPAL’S “PISSU KELINA” SONG.
At a speech made by the Chief Guest, The President at yesterday’s prize giving ceremony of Royal College was furious about the lyrics of songs that bring disrepute to our nation. This would facilitate and give impetus and courage to those who are trying to divide our country.
The example was made by him by quoting the lyrics of the song sung some years ago by Deepal Silva,”Me Rate Minissu Thanikara Kelinne Pissu”.I have heard this song, but songs with lyrics such as “Lokema Uthum Rata Lankawai”,elaborates patriotism and national pride. Those gave an impetus and courage to our forces to make us independent by defeating terrorism.
Such unpatriotic songs would strengthen those who are in favor of dividing the country.
