"If we go on like this ... we'll be left deserted in isolation!" -- Malinga

Sri Lankan former captain and senior player Lasith Malinga says that every player in the team should carry out the role he is expected in the proper manner and if not ... it would be a difficult task to forge ahead. Thus, Lasith Malinga has made a disappointed statement statement addressing the media in England sometime before the match scheduled to be played with Afghanistan today (4) in the world cup tournament. This is what he said:

"Throughout the past we lose a match ... then it's forgotten and cast aside ... then go for the other
match. If things progress in this manner ... we'll be able to go on this way forever. What I hope is that as a senior player and as a player among the 15 in the team, every player should play staunch notion by having a sense of embarassment about his own competing while sticking to the opinion that he should display his skills during the game. If not ... it would not be an easy task to take our cricket ahead. I hope that every player should from tomorrow onwards feel the embarassment and fear ... thinking, 'I must display my skills and I who have come as a player to the midst of these 15 have come not just to play the game and go away' (will then take to heart).

If he has a fear to think 'there is a role allotted to me' and there is a fear that 'I must do it' ... and then having understood that and think 'what is expected of me? ... how should I help the other person?' because everything changes during the middle of the game. I believe they will come forward to face that change".
