"Our country still acknowledges Ranil Wickremasingha as lawful Prime Minister of Sri Lanka!"

Foreign Affairs Secretary of Britain, Mr. Jeremy Hunt declared in parliament yesterday (30) that they still acknowledge Mr. Ranil Wickremasingha as the legitimate Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. This statement was made during the course of a dialogue that took place him and Conservative member of parliament Sir Hugo Swire.

During this moment he had said that the course of action taken by Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena recently is directly contradictory to the 19th amendment of Sri Lanka's constitution and that Mr Ranil Wickremasingha is still acknowledged by them as the legitimate Prime Minister of Sri
Lanka and that even the international community still accepts him. He further mentioned that this situation could be reversed only through a vote in parliament and that they wish that steps are taken to assemble in parliament as soon as possible. When questioned whether this would be accentuated to President Maithripala Sirisena at a future date, what the secretary said was that he would definitely emphasise this matter. The Foreign Secretary further stated that British parliament is focusing strong attention on the security of Mr. Ranil Wickremasingha.

After Mahinda Rajapaksa was appointed to the position of Prime Minister, America, Britain and other foreign countries have informed that they are focusing attention whether the constitution of Sri Lanka is properly executed and except for China, no other country of repute has sent good wishes to Mahinda. On the other hand, as a country belonging to UN Organisation and the Commonwealth, international support and acceptance is deemed necessary to continue activities forward in that respect.

Within this situation, the necessity to unravel this issue at the earliest by appointing either Mahinda or Ranil in an authentic manner. Video, from below
