Four Chinese beggars taken into custody from Fort Railway station premises
The police anti corruption unit of the Fort police had arrested four
Chinese nationals who had been begging near the Fort railway station premises.
The elderly Chinese was a male 60 years old had been seen begging while inside a wheel chair. The others who were with him had been an elderly Chinese lady and one male and female supposed to be children of the elderly couple.
When the police personnel had questioned them it had been revealed that they had been sponsored to Sri Lanka by a wealthy Chinese resident in Sri Lanka and they had been staying in a hotel in Kollupitiya.
These information had been obtained by Inspector Premachandra of the anti corruption unit of the Fort police who had arrested them on a tip off given to him.
