17 years schoolboy who won Sirasa Super Star ...gets 10 million
The winner of the Sirasa Super Star Season 5 Finals held last Saturday was 17 year old schoolboy Dasun Madushan. He is still a student of Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa and because of that victory, he becomes the recipient of Rs.10 million which then is the biggest cash award presented by a Reality Show TV programme in Sri Lanka.
Dasun Madushan from Ratmalana has a brother too who engages in the field of music. He is Kasun Madushan and Dasun admitted that the training he received from his brother to sing well in this competition was a significant factor. Because Dasun was able to win the Sirasa Super crown
even at a young age while still schooling, he was able to create a record.
He said that he has still not thought of what he will b doing with the money; but since he wishes to remain in this field, he hopes to put out a music video in the future.
Rasintha Gayan Dharmasena from Eppawala came second in the competition. Rasintha who is a 33 year old youth was given a tough fight by Dasun and the former claimed Rs.5 lakhs.
